University Archivist and assistant professor Lois Hamill has been awarded a University Community Partnership mini-grant to develop a civic engagement project involving Civil War correspondence by Cyrus Reasoner. Reasoner was an officer in the 15th Ohio Infantry and later colonel of the 160th Ohio Infantry. His correspondence describes the life of an infantryman in Kentucky and elsewhere during the war.
Reasoner’s correspondence will be added to the historical collections in Special Collections. Plans include digitizing his letters so that they will be readily available to researchers.
